Construction Safety Excellence Awards
The AGC Construction Safety and Excellence Awards (CSEA) is an ongoing and evolving effort by Associated General Contractors of America. The awards recognize companies that have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss prevention programs achieved through management commitment, employee involvement, and program innovation. All AGC Houston contractor members that excel at safety performance are encouraged to submit applications for each division and occupational category.
The CSEA selection process is comprehensive with judges looking for evidence of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation.
There has been an important change for 2016 entries: The two-year sit-out that was required for companies that won first place in prior years has been removed.
During the award submittal period, applicants must complete the nomination forms and submit them to AGC Houston. The Chapter then selects finalists for each respective category (if applicable) and submits the recommendations to AGC of America.

Members of the national AGC Safety & Health Committee review the Chapter's submittals, closely examining each company's commitment to safety, occupational health management and risk control.
Finalists in each respective category compete at the AGC National Convention by giving an oral presentation before five judges. First-, second- and third-place winners are announced at the Willis Safety Awards Breakfast during the AGC Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas.
