AGC Southwest Chapters 401(K) Plan Now Available To Members Throughout Texas
AGC Houston and the Louisiana AGC are excited to announce the addition of the AGC Texas Building Branch (TBB) Chapter as a sponsor of the AGC Southwest Chapters 401(k) Plan. With the unanimous assenting vote of the plan’s Advisory Committee, TBB becomes the third sponsor of the plan, effective July 9, 2019.
With the addition of TBB, any company having a membership in any one of the 10 Texas AGC building chapters, as well as in the Louisiana AGC, can obtain the low-cost, simplified (401) plan for themselves and their employees. Previously, a company had to be a member of either AGC Houston or Louisiana AGC to join the plan.
“Adding TBB as a sponsor to the AGC Southwest Chapters 401(k) Plan will provide an opportunity for many companies to assist their employees in building a more financially secure retirement,” stated Jerry Nevlud, AGC Houston President/CEO. “Also, in a time when employers are looking to attain and retain good employees, this plan is the type of benefit that many will find very attractive.
The AGC Southwest Chapters 401(k) Plan is one of the largest association plan in the nation with more than $350 million in assets and over 100 participating companies. The plan started in 2009 with AGC Houston and in 2012 merged with the newly formed Louisiana AGC multiple employer plan; it has seen steady growth ever since.
According to Ken Naquin, CEO of Louisiana AGC, “Our goal is to provide the best association 401(k) MEP plan in the nation. To our knowledge, no other plan is offering incentives like the ones ours does. It is a benefit not only for the companies and participants currently in the plan but for all those that will join us in the future. Equally important has been the attention to improving and delivering the services associated with the plan itself.”
“This is truly an exciting opportunity for our members who have been looking to offer a retirement savings plan for their employees,” stated Corbin Van Arsdale, TBB President and General Counsel.
